Evening monsoon rains clear
Giving rise to a summer August moon
Waxing Gibbous over the lake
Lighting the sound of the loon
The trail is void of human sounds
In the dark of the oak
The leaves still hold the rain
An offering the clouds evoked
How mighty these trees feel
Sight unseen
Their presence walks with me
Accompanied by the breeze
Sweet woodland potpourri
Starlit clouds floating untethered
Voices echo from glowing cabins
Disappear where the deep trees gather
Oh joyous summer evening
Lean and long
My heart is alive with the sweet aroma
Of expectations throngs
